ICT can solve unemployment -Ighodalo

The Pastor and Founder, Trinity House, Lagos, Ituah Ighodalo, has said Information and Communication Technology revolution can solve unemployment confronting the country.

He said this on Tuesday during the inauguration of The Trinity Academy, Victoria Island, Lagos.

It is a centre dedicated to the training of prospective students in different areas of Information Technology.

According to him, the IT centre will cater for the training of thousands of Nigerians including those who are physically-challenged, and those who are not members of the church.

He said, “Knowledge is power. Everybody must aspire to get knowledge. Currently all over the world, Information Technology has occupied the centre stage, where hundreds of thousands of people are making a living.

“Definitely, the centre is powered to take a lot of our youths out of unemployment market and transform them into skilled professional in different areas of Information Technology. Professionals also could also take advantage of this training to update their knowledge in IT.”

Ighodalo said Trinity House would be doing this in conjunction with Cisco Networking Academy, which specialises in providing technical training in all popular Cisco and Microsoft IT certifications.

And this, he added, would give the prospective students an edge in getting world-class training.

He said, “The Trinity Academy will offer an extensive array of vendor-authorised IT training and all of the in-demand Cisco, CompuTIA certifications. Every year, hundreds of thousands of Cisco Networking Academy students worldwide gain the skills needed to build, design, and maintain computer networks; improving their career prospects, while filling the global demand for networking professionals.”
