The Chairman of Amuwo Odofin Local Government, Mr. Ayodele Adewale, has said governments at all levels must be responsible to the people.
Adewale explained that the electorates were the boss of any government and as such should be given feedback on every programme and policy.
The council boss spoke in FESTAC town during an inspection of ongoing road rehabilitation projects in the area.
He said the essence of the inspection was to avail themselves on the progress of the projects and make sure that the proposed date of completion was met.
He said, “The completion of the projects is our feedback to the people. And we are satisfied with what we have seen so far. But the executive members would still meet to find a way of fast-tracking some of the projects.
“Our efforts at repositioning grassroots governance cannot be compromised. We will continue to deliver on our electoral promises as a way of being answerable to the people.”
Adewale, who was accompanied by the executive members of the council and other government officials, inspected rehabilitation works at 41/40, 401, 22,322 and 311 roads.
