An Isah Aminu brace in the third match of the day, ensured that Kaduna United get the three maximum points over Bayelsa United in Kaduna by winning 2-0. Aminu got his first goal in the 34th minute from the penalty spot after a Bayelsa United player had been adjudged to have handled the ball in the 18 yard box. His second of the day came in the 77th minute off a powerful shot.
Meanwhile, Warri Wolves, who were still without their injured midfielder, Ikechukwu Ibenegbu, due to an ankle injury he had sustained in their CAF Confederations Cup match, hosted six-time champions of the NPFL, Enyimba International at the Warri City Stadium.
The two sides failed to register any goal in the match as the match ended goalless. The closest either side came to scoring was in the 56th minute when Wolves struck the bar at the Enyimba end of the field.
At the Enugu International Stadium, where Rangers FC hosted Nembe City of Jos, the match was brought to an abrupt end in its 76th minute due to heavy rains which threatened to wash off all in the stadium. Rangers were leading 2-0 courtesy of goals from Meshack Chibuikem and substitute Christian Obiozor in the 13th and 58th minutes.
The match was later concluded after the rain.
The match between Giwa FC of Jos and Kano Pillars at the Rwang Pam Stadium in Jos ended in a 1-1 draw. The rescheduled week one match saw goals from Edoh Ocheme in the 31st minute for Giwa and Kabiru Umar in the 60th minute. Ocheme, the Giwa goal scorer, was red-carded in the dying minutes of the game for a second bookable offence.
