FCTA to install explosive detection device in buses

FCT minister, Bala Mohammed

The Federal Capital Territory Administration will install in its luxury buses devices that can detect metal or explosives.

The FCT Minister, Senator Bala Mohammed,  disclosed this on Tuesday in Abuja after visiting the scene of the blast and the Asokoro District Hospital where some of the survivors were receiving treatment.

He stated, “The FCT Administration would meet with security agencies to exploit ways of providing additional security for motor parks, markets and other public places in the Federal Capital Territory.”

He assured that the FCT Administration would pick medical bills of all those injured in the  Nyanya bomb blast in the early hours of Monday.

The minister commiserated with the people that lost their loved ones and those who survived but sustained various degrees of injuries.

While promising to provide full medical treatment to all those injured including feeding,  Mohammed condemned the attack, which he described as wicked and heartless.

He therefore directed the FCT Secretary of Health and Human Services Secretariat, Dr. Ademola Onakomaiya to immediately refer any serious case to referral or specialist hospitals either government or privately owned and the bills be paid from the coffers of the FCT Administration.
