Manchester United defender Patrice Evra is bracing up for a move to Inter Milan, according to reports from Italy.
The 32-year-old Frenchman met with the Nerazzuri director of sport Piero Ausilio in the Terminal of the London City Airport on Wednesday afternoon, according to a report credited to TuttoMercatoWeb.
They are reported to have walked off together to hold negotiations on a future together at the San Siro.
Evra’s current contract with the Premier League champions runs out in June and he has been in the books of many European clubs.
The left-back debunked rumours he was preparing to quit United in October after claiming he won’t extend his contract with United for “personal reasons” in an interview with a French TV programme Telefoot.
The former AS Monaco player turned down an opportunity to join Inter in January 2006, only to join United ten days later for arround 5.5m pounds.
With the deal to sign another ‘Red Devils’ defender Nemanja Vidic almost a foregone conclussion, Evra, who has a strong command of the Italian language, could become a second United player to join Walter Mazzarri’s men.
