Briscoeford has given a fillip to its marketing of the new Ecosport with the release of the crossover utility vehicle for test driving in Lagos on Friday.
Our correspondent had a feel of the vehicle on the field of the Golf Club, Ikeja along with other motoring journalists.
The vehicle felt light in handling yet enjoyed a lot of on road stability.
The off-road benefits of a sport utility vehicle also came handy during the driving experience on the club field.
For the Nigerian market, Briscoeford confirms that the 1.0 litre engine and the 1.5 litre engine, both petrol engines, are available.
The vehicle offers a range of efficient powertrains, including the 125PS 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine and a 110PS 1.5-litre petrol engine that can deliver ‘class-leading fuel efficiency’ in Nigeria.
Ford says its target for the EcoSport is to become the segment leader in fuel-efficiency with its various engine options.
Its energy efficiency is one of the highlights of the vehicle.
The Ford Ecosport is said to have brought features not normally found in this segment of vehicles, offering a driving experience with a superior standard of onboard connectivity, safety and convenience.
One of its unique features is the award-winning SYNC driver connect system with voice control.
Briscoeford says the SYNC, which sets the trend for a hands-free, voice-activated future, “helps drivers to keep their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road as they choose their favourite music and make calls on a mobile phone.”
The ford dealer says the vehicle is available between N3.8m and N4.2m.
