The Allied Congress Party of Nigeria has called for equal representation for all registered political parties at the forthcoming National Conference.
The National Secretary of the party, Alhaji Ganiyu Galadima, made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Thursday in Kaduna.
Galadima said the ACPN was in support of the conference, saying “we disagree with the representation, it was wrong.”
He suggested that each political party should be allocated two slots, saying that giving only five parties representation was “inadequate and unacceptable.”
“We have different ideologies, so no party can go to the national conference and represent the other,’’ he said.
He said it was important that political parties were fully represented at such an important dialogue.
He said that the objective of the exercise was for Nigerians to meet and discuss national problems and proffer solutions to them, hence the need for equal representation by all parties.
On the security situation in the country, Galadima urged the Federal Government and the security agencies to intensify effort at ending the crisis.
“We are all Nigerians and whatever happens to anyone of us, affects all of us,’’ he said.
