Standard Liege striker Ezekiel Imoh could again turn down an opportunity to debut for the Nigeria national team for Belgium.
The 20-year-old was got his first Super Eagles call-up ahead of the March 5th World Cup warm-up against Mexico in Atlanta, USA, just recently, but its unsure if he would honour coach Stephen Keshi’s invitation.
Imoh had rejected a previous invitation from ex-Flying Eagles coach John Obuh to wear the green and white colours at the 2013 African Youth Championship in Algeria.
Early last year, the Belgiaan federation failed in their mission to fast-track his citizenship which would make him eligible to play for the Red Devils.
Belgian media Het Laatste Nieuws revealed that the House of Representatives have not sheltered Ezekiel’s case regarding his application for a Belgian passport after a first refusal.
Report also has it that the lower house will review its decision on Thursday and make recommendations thereafter – a verdict that could see him get the nod of fulfilling his dreams of representing Belgium.
However, it is yet to be seen if the striker would turn down another opportunity- his most probable route to Brazil 2014- to commit his international future to Nigeria.
