Army Begins Weapon Testing In Nasarawa, Warns Public Against Rumor Mongering

State of emergency in three states of NigeriaThe 2014 edition of the Army Headquarters Garrison Range Classification exercise commenced yesterday at the Guards Brigade Range, Keffi, Nassarawa State.

The exercise, billed to end on March 14, is designed to further test the art of weapon handling, expertise and marksmanship of officers and men under the Army Headquarters, Departments and Units.

“The public is advised not to panic when movements of troops are noticed along Abuja –Keffi road, or if firing is heard within the exercise area.

“This information is to the benefit of the public, to avoid unnecessary rumour mongering, in view of the current security challenges”, a statement by the Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel Aliyu Yusuf, read on Monday.
