The All Farmers Association of Nigeria in Kebbi on Monday called on members to update their registration with the association to enable them benefit from the N2 billion loan recently secured for them.
The Secretary of the association, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Birnin Kebbi.
He said the loan would be jointly provided by the state government and Bank of Agriculture.
Idris said 300 tractors, 2,000 work bulls and other accessories would also be distributed to farmers on loan basis to improve their activities.
He said the facilities would only be given to members of the association in the 21 local government areas of the state.
Idris also said the gesture was the first of its kind, adding that the association would support the agricultural policies of the state government.
The Director, Federal Ministry of Agriculture in Kebbi, Mr Kevin Tekpat, also told NAN that the Federal Government would provide additional tractors for farmers in the state to boost their productivity.
Tekpat said the government would partner with the private sector in the provision of power tillers to the farmers at low rates.
