Premier League Team of the Week: Torres leads line as Kompany & Yaya Toure selected after Manchester derby

Chelsea stars Fernando Torres, John Terry, Ashley Cole and Juan Mata all feature in this week’s TOTW after the Blues’ emphatic 6-1 victory over QPR on Sunday.

The Spanish striker racks up his fourth appearance in our XI this season following his first treble in a Chelsea shirt, with the former Liverpool man seemingly in full flight after his goal last week against Barcelona.

Terry’s evening at Camp Nou may have taken on a different slant with his first-half sending off, but the Blues’ captain earned a quick reprieve with his side’s second goal of the afternoon, while team-mate Cole also lines up at left-back.

Mata completes our Chelsea contingent, with the 24-year-old returning to our TOTW to feature, like Torres, for the fourth time this year.

Manchester City duo Vincent Kompany and Yaya Toure are also included, after the club captain’s first-half goal sealed a vital 1-0 victory for Roberto Mancini’s men against title rivals United at the Etihad Stadium on Monday night.

Luis Suarez makes only his second appearance in our XI in the current campaign, following the Uruguayan’s terrific hat-trick in Liverpool’s 3-0 victory over Norwich City at Carrow Road on Saturday.

Tottenham’s Kyle Walker, who bagged a superb goal from a free-kick in the 2-0 win against Blackburn, and Brazilian midfielder Sandro, are also included as Harry Redknapp’s side regained their place in the top four.

Key to Spurs’ revival was Newcastle’s 4-0 defeat away to Wigan, and vital to the Latics’ victory was Victor Moses, with the wideman bagging a double at the DW Stadium against Alan Pardew’s side.

Everton stopper Tim Howard rounds off our TOTW after his role in the Toffees’ 4-0 victory over Fulham at Goodison Park.

Swansea’s Andrea Orlandi and Wolves trio Matt Jarvis, Kevin Doyle & Michael Kightly are all unlucky to miss out following the two sides’ 4-4 draw this weekend, while strikers Nikica Jelavic & Kevin Davies both just miss the cut.
