It was a joyous moment at the World of Life Bible Church yesterday as the Founder and President, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Pastor, Ayodele Oritsejafor was presented with a private jet.
The gift was presented to him at the church headquarters in Warri on the occasion of his 40th years of ministration.
The 10-seater Bombadier/Challenger jet, marked N431CB, is an updated version of 194 series, and it is said to cost about 4.9million dollars.
The aircraft which has a range of 3,900 nautical miles, is also said to have a full enclosed lavatory and a flight attendant for additional comfort.
The luxurious and spacious cabin of the Challenger 601 is perfect to conduct meetings or simply relax. With this gift, the charismatic pastor has joined the league of men of God who have acquired a private yet.
Before him, Pastors David Oyedepo of Winners chapel, Enoch Adeboye of Redeemed Christian Church of God, and Sam Adeyemi of Daystar Christian Centre, were proud owners of private jets.
When the aircraft was projected on the slide, the ecstatic congregation burst into a frenzy, congratulating one another.
The charismatic pastor who was beaming with smiles as the jet was being projected on the slide, expressed appreciation to the congregation even as he said the gift would further spur him to do more.
However, It is yet to be seen whether the acquisition of the jet by the man of God would generate criticisms like those before him.
For instance, the criticisms that greeted the purchase of a private Jet put at 30million dollars by David Oyedepo in March, 2011, are yet to completely die down. Oyedepo, who presides over the Winners Chapel, one of Africa’s largest churches, is believed to own a private collection of four aircraft.
He was said to have previously owned two Gulfstream planes and a Bombardier Challenger Aircraft.
Also, the private aircraft of the revered overseer of Nigeria’s largest congregation, The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, is said to cost $30 million
