New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary candidate for Ablekuma South, Ursula Owusu is alleged to have been assaulted at the Odododiodio constituency.
She is accusing the National Democratic Congress (NDC) aspiring Parliamentary candidate for the area and aide to president John Mills, Nii Lante Vanderpuye as masterminding the attack.
Miss Owusu said she was touring the constituency Wednesday to urge NPP supporters in the constituency to register when she was attacked by some heavily built men she claimed were followers of Nii Lante Vanderpuye.
Narrating her ordeal on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme, Ursula Owusu said upon her arrival at a registration centre known as Tarzan in the constituency, she was mobbed by some macho men and given a slap on her face.
She said the macho men who held broken bottles hurled stones at her whiles she run for cover in one of the shops around the area.
She said she suffered injuries to her face and other parts of her body.
Ursula Owusu noted that she has filed a complaint at the Central Police station to ensure further investigations into the matter.
But in quick response, Nii Lante Vanderpuye refuted the allegations blaming the NPP of causing pandemonium in the constituency.
