Minority Leader Urges Voters To Register For 2012 Polls

Minority Leader, Mr Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, is urging all qualified voters to ensure that they get their names in the electoral roll when the nationwide biometric registration exercise begins.

He said they could only exercise their franchise in the December election if they did so.

Mr Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, who is the Member of Parliament (MP) for Suame, was interacting with his constituents at Old Suame in Kumasi to collate their concerns and articulate them on the floor of the House.

He warned against the temptation of engaging in double registration, saying offenders would be prosecuted.

He reiterated his determination to bring development to the people through the provision and improvement of social amenities in the area.

Some significant progress had been made in this direction and evidence of this is found in classroom blocks built in a number of the communities, supply of exercise books, furniture and computers to schools.

Added to these was the provision of scholarship to brilliant needy students in the constituency.

Mr Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu said there were plans to build a community health centre to make quality healthcare accessible to the people.

Mr Asiedu Keteke, the assembly member for Old Suame, commended the MP for the ‘tremendous effort,’ he was making towards the socio-economic development of the area.

He appealed to him to support them to carry out expansion works at the Old Suame market, as well as the improvement of the street lights to enhance security. -
