Lionel Messi Breaks Pele’s Record With 76 Goals

Crunchsports :    Barcelona forward Lionel Messi has become the greatest ever goalscorer in a calendar year after scoring twice in Sunday’s win over Mallorca to take his tally for 2012 to 76.

Messi has now scored 64 goals for Barcelona and 12 for Argentina this year, resulting in him breaking Brazilian legend Pele’s previous record of 75 goals.

The 25-year-old has now scored 15 times in 11 La Liga matches this season.
