BRITISH American Investments Company Limited has unveiled a new corporate identity as it eyes regional expansion to grow its business. The firm which is usually referred to as Britak here in Kenya has recently ventured into South Sudan and Uganda and is eyeing Rwanda and Tanzania in the near future, it said yesterday.
The company will now be known by the acronym Britam to reflect its regional presence and wide range of business which includes general insurance, investment company and fund and asset management operations. “We are repositioning the brand ahead of planned accelerated regional expansion,” said the group managing director Benson Wairegi.
British American Investments Company is the owner of British American Insurance Company Limited and British American Asset Managers Limited companies in Kenya. The legal names of the firm remain the same and the recent changes only affect the brand name.
