African Sports Consultant Mamadou Gaye has blasted Ghana FA President Kwasi Nyantakyi for his involvement in a recent amendment made by CAF.
CAF’s Executive Committee last week approved an amendment which restricts the contest for the body’s Presidency to only Executive Committee members.
This decision has generated a lot of uproar across the continent with many believing it is another classical plot by incumbent Issah Hayatou to indemnify himself in office.
And Gaye who has been critical of CAF’s administration under Hayatou says Ghana’s FA boss Kwasi Nyantakyi failed to show leadership in not attempting to stop such an amendment.
“The Executive Committee members especially with Ghana’s Kwasi (Nyantakyi) failed to show leadership by approving such an atrocious amendment,” Gaye told GTV’s Stage Africa show.
“He (Nyantakyi) did not raise any objection during the discussion and actually voted in favour of this amendment.
“This is a very bad rule which will further stall the development of African football.”
