Dolphin have said they are aiming for another big win over Sony Ela Nguema of Equatorial Guinea in a CAF Champions League first round, second leg qualifier at home Sunday.
The Port Harcourt team won the first leg in Malabo 3-0 with goals from Ifeanyi Egwim, Chidi Sochukwu and Emmanuel Nwachi.
However, the players said they will play the return leg match as if they had lost the first clash in Malabo.
The Nigerian club will not be lacking in motivation after the announcement that they will soon receive their cash and car rewards for winning the league championship last season.
The gates will also be thrown open for the fans to come in their numbers to cheer them to another resounding victory.
On-form striker Emmanuel Nwachi, who netted the opening goal in Malabo, said they have resolved to do the double over their visitors.
“We won the first leg 3-0 which put us ahead of them well, but we are not taking it like that, we are playing the return leg as if we lost the first leg because we want to win here with more goals,” the experienced Nwachi told MTNFootball.com
Former Flying Eagles star, Abdul Jeleel Ajagun also said they are gunning for victory despite the comfortable victory in first leg.
“Football is a funny game, we won the first leg 3-0 but that does not mean we should relax. The fact that we scored three goals there means they can do same against us here. So, we are ready to go all out in this game to win the game convincingly,” Ajagun said.
The prize for qualification to the next round will be a clash with either Orlando Pirates of South Africa or Clube Recreativo Desportivo do Lobolo from Angola.
The Angolans hold the advantage having won the first leg 3-1 in South Africa.
