Akpabio inaugurates 12 new projects

Akwa Ibom State governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio, Thursday, inaugurated 12 projects in Ikono Local Government Area of the state.

Akpabio, who was represented by the state Commissioner for Rural and Urban Development, Mr Sunday Anyang, appreciated the people of Ikono for their warm reception and indicated that his visit was in fulfillment of his promise to the people of the state that more projects would be executed with special attention given to road construction in the area.

The governor charged them to guard and handle the projects with care pointing out that the projects were meant to serve them.

The projects ranged from construction, reconstruction, rehabilitation of classroom blocks, offices, accommodation buildings, assembly halls, rural electrification as well as mini water schemes.

While receiving the governor and his entourage, the Transition Chairman of Ikono Local Government Council, Obongawan Lovina Umoefa, thanked the governor for making Ikono local government area one of the beneficiaries in infrastructure.
