Minister Wishes Stars Well
The Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, on behalf of Government and the people of Ghana, has sent a goodwill message to the senior the Black Stars ahead of their crucial 2014 World Cup qualifier against Zambia tomorrow.
In a statement, the minister said, ‘Zambia has been a very difficult opponent for the Black Stars in recent times, but I am confident that this time around, the Black Stars will fly high the flag of Ghana by winning convincingly to top their group. Since this is the final game for Group D, the stakes are very high and I am confident the Black Stars will once again rise to the occasion and make Ghana proud.
‘Nevertheless, I will caution the team not to be overconfident but rather work hard in order to put smiles on the faces of Ghanaians after the match,’ the Hon. Minister stated.
The Hon. Minister urged the technical and management teams of the Black Stars to work hard as they had always done to ensure that the team qualifies for a third successive World Cup.
He appealed to Ghana fans to throng the Kumasi Stadium tomorrow and cheer the Black Stars to ensure an overwhelming victory.
He also appealed to every Ghanaian to remember the team in prayers ahead of the match.
