Medeama Might Pull Out Of Africa – Edmund Ackah

Management Member of Medeama SC Edmund Ackah claims the club might pull out of their debut CAF Confederations Cup campaign due to financial constraints.

The Tarkwa-based side had an enterprising start in the Confederations cup as they beat Equatorial-Guinea side Panthers FC 4-0 on aggregate but the future doesn’t look encouraging for the young club in the competition due to huge financial burden.

Ackah told Angel FM “We have and still will try hard to make Ghanaians proud in the competition by progressing to higher heights as we did in the first leg but things are getting hard for us”.

“After playing the first and second legs with Panthers, I can tell you we have been shocked by the amount of monies we have spent on those two matches”.

“We are to play 8 matches before we get to the money stage and now we have played just two but our finances are down.

“We did the expenses and I can tell you that the amount we generated was no where near the debt we have accrued…I will say that it will be very difficult for us to continue because this is even Equatorial Guinea but we are expected to go to Morocco.

“Now we are calling on Ghanaians and other cooperate bodies to come in and help us otherwise I can tell you that we cannot be able to honour the next round of the competition,” He added.
