Mad Rush for NPP Posts
DAILY GUIDE gathered that persons, including the current Regional Secretary, Dr. Clifford Braimah, 1st Regional Vice Chairman, Alhaji Iddi Ahmed Rufai and Daniel Bugri Naabu are lacing their boots to unseat the incumbent chairman.
Others have blamed the poor organization of the party in the region to the alleged inefficiency of Alhaji Haruna Tia Sulemana aka Aron Bees, its current chairman, accusing him of creating disaffection among the rank and file of the party.
Though prospective aspirants have confirmed their intentions to DAILY GUIDE, they indicated in separate interviews that they were monitoring events while others said they were waiting for nominations to be opened.
DAILY GUIDE can confirm that former Deputy Regional Secretary, Faisal Gbanjili would compete with Sule Salifu, who failed in his bid to become Regional Secretary of the party during the previous regional congress.
The two, who are expected to completely fiercely, would be joined by three other contestants.
Meanwhile, the forthcoming congress to elect regional executives promises to be interesting with the expanded electoral college of the party.
It is believed that leaders, who failed in the past to discharge their duties effectively, would not be elected.
The NPP in 2012 won 10 parliamentary seats, a significant improvement over the previous elections.
The 2012 Vice presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, prior to the polls, campaigned vigorously in the region to win more votes.
Some foot-soldiers, who spoke to DAILY GUIDE, said the party needs selfless leaders to capture power in 2016 to improve the lives of all Ghanaians.
