Low Turnout In Cape Coast Resgistration
Most of the electoral areas in the metropolis, which includes Presbyterian Basic and Junior High School, had not registered anybody as at 9.00am due to the break down of the machines at the various registration centers.
As a result, the Electoral Commission (EC) officials obtained new machines from the office to replace the faulty ones.
As at 3:53 pm, the Legon center had registered only eight people due to the situation.
At the various electoral areas, some of the new voters who wanted to register came with an elderly people to testify to their ages to avoid any doubt.
The representatives of the two main political parties, namely the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) were seen at the centers.
Many people questioned the seriousness of the other parties due to the absence of their representatives at the registrations centres.
