Legal mystic around Tsatsu Tsikata will be demystified in court – Karbo

Anthony Karbo

The former National Youth Organizer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Anthony Abaryifa Karbo has described as premature accolades being showered on Tsatsu Tsikata, lead counsel for the ruling party in the ongoing Election Petition hearing.

He said Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, key witness for the petitioners is not “dumb” and will not be “fooled” by Tsatsu Tsikata.

Anthony Karbo was reacting to comments made by Abraham Amaliba, a member of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NPP) that he cant wait for Tsatsu Tsikata’s cross-examination.

Lawyer Amaliba is also quoted to have said he will be glad if he dies after listening to Tsatsu’s cross-examination of Dr. Bawumia.

But speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Friday, Anthony Karbo urged Abraham Amaliba to prepare to die because his legal luminary will be flawed in a gargantuan way in court.

“The man [Bawumia] behind the case has sworn an oath with the Holy Quran and is living by it to the letter in that witness box” he added.

According to him, Dr. Bawumia has proven to be credible, honest and knowledgeable enough to outwit the supposed legal antics of Tsatu Tsikata.

“That so called legal mystic behind Tsatsu Tsikata will be demystified when he has his turn in court”.

He wondered why the NDC has so much confidence in Mr. Tsikata in a case he claims has been crafted by a “statistician, a banker, an economist [Bawumia] who understands figures, a strategist[Jake] and an astute lawyer [Nana Akufo-Addo]“.

“Even Tony Lithur, counsel for President Mahama could not break Dr. Bawumia then Quarshie Idun is a walk over but as for Tsatsu he is no threat”.

The former NPP Youth Organizer said he is yet to see any legal authority in the Ghana Law report by Tsatsu Tsikata being quoted by students in the law school.

Anthony Karbo said the rank and file of the NPP revere Dr. Bawumia because he has proven beyond reasonable doubt that he is up to the task.

“You can ask Bawumia 11 thousand question; you will get 11 thousand consistent answers and that is the kind of credibility we are talking about a star witness in this matter who will eventually push the petitioners into victory”.
