Kwabena Kwabena To Heal Ailing Hearts
Come the 19th October 2013, one of Ghana’s finest high life singers, Kwabena Kwabena would be gathering the best of the stars in the music industry to seek for funds to support the ailing hearts at the National Cardiothoracic Centre of the premium hospital Korle Bu.
‘Save A Life’ concert is aimed at raising huge amount of money to help these patients since it costs as much as Gh12000 to operate on one person.
For this purpose, Kwabena Kwabena calls on all to join Sarkodie, Efya, Samini, O.J, Stella Ducan, Becca, Funny Face, Okyeame Kwame, Afriyie and Joojo and other celebrities to support him on October 19 at the State Banquet Hall in Accra for this concert to ‘SAVE A LIFE’.
The award singing artist also known as George Kwabena Adu born in Accra on 17th October 1978 would turn a 38 year on his birthday whiles he celebrates with an open public performance a listening section with the public and the media prior to the 19th October,2013 concert.
He attended Datus Complex in Bubuashie and continued at Green Hill School and Aggrey Junior Secondary School for his basic education and completed St. Peters secondary school in Nkwatia Kwahu in eastern region some years back.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with The Chronicle as one of the media sponsors of the “Save Live Concert”, the Artist Manager of KBKB Music Production, Mr. Kelvin Opoku Boateng has observed that the show is one of the corporate responsibilities of the award winning artist.
“This is a concert which is a payback time to fans and the entire public for supporting his musical career for the past eight years since he was well known in the musical scene”, Mr. Boateng stressed.
The Artist Manager of KBKB further explained that the vision of the show was unearth when the artist Kwabena,Kwabena meet the head of National Cardiothoracic Centre at Kumasi at Golden Tulip whiles charting the idea was given birth to support the ailing hearts in the country.
The show is slated for this Saturday October 19 at the State Banquet Hall in Accra and will see top Ghanaian musicians and celebrities joining the highlife artiste for the never-before concert.
Artistes billed for the show are Sarkodie, Efya, Samini, Becca, O.J, Stella Ducan, Funny Face, Okyeame Kwame, Afriyie, Joojo and others.
The show is aimed at raising funds for the National Cardiothoracic Centre to save life of patients who are financially weak to go under the heart surgery.
‘For the past eight years when my first album was released, Ghanaians have been supporting my career by buying my cds and around this time I felt it so heavy on my heart to also give back to the society.
‘People need a healthy heart to accept my songs so I have taken it upon myself to save these hearts.’ Kwabena Kwabena said in an interview.
Dr Lawrence Agyeman Sereboe, Director of the National Cardiothoracic Centre, Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, said cardiovascular disease otherwise known as heart disease is expensive to operate so there are quite a number of patients who are suffering from the disease.
He added that without the surgery, these people have a maximum of 5 years to leave on this planet.
