Kotoko stars go bananas to support Dani Alves against racism


Players of Ghanaian giants Kotoko posed with bananas to show support for Barcelona defender Dani Alves following his recent racial abuse.

Kotoko players have backed the Barcelona’s  after he reacted to having a banana thrown at him by peeling it and taking a bite during Barca’s dramatic 3-2 comeback at Villareal.

Top stars including goalkeeper Abdoulaye Soulama and Rahim Ayew alongside some of their colleagues posted a picture of themselves eating bananas as a form of showing solidarity with the Brazilian super star.

In response to a banana being thrown onto the pitch in front of him as he prepared to take a corner, Alves nonchalantly picked it up, peeled it and took a bite before continuing with the game.

Alves’ unusual reaction to the incident hit the headlines and seen him receive increasing support from the world of football and the Ghanaian powerhouse have not been left out of the outpouring of support.
