Kevin-Prince Boateng has send a warm congratulatory message to the Black Stars at the Africa Cup of Nations
In what could spark hopes that Kevin-Prince Boateng wants a Ghana return, the midfielder has sent a warm congratulatory message to the Black Stars for defeating Mali at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
The ex-Ghana international, who shockingly retired from the Black Stars two years ago without any provocation, clearly showed he follows the Ghana national team with keen interest.
As the young Black Stars squad fought very hard to defeat Mali 1-0 at the Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa on Thursday, Boateng watched their gutsy performance.
As the end of the game the Germany-born star took to social media to send his warmest congratulations to the boys representing Ghana in South Africa.
“Congratulations to the Black Stars of Ghana, good performance against Mali!,” Boateng tweeted.
Ghana are on the verge of qualifying for the quarter-finals of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations thanks to their performance against Mali.
Boateng retired from the Black Stars in November 2011, deciding to concentrate on his club duties claiming his journey to the national team affects his health.
He was lambasted by Ghanaians for his decision just one year after his inclusion in the Black Stars squad helped him to secure the lucrative move to AC Milan.
Despite the decision many still want him to return to play for Ghana, the country of his father.
His message to the Black Stars could spark hopes that he could return to the national team in future.
