Kalabash Foundation Provides 28 Communities With Safe Drinking Water
Twenty-eight communities in the Upper East Region are now benefiting from safe drinking water, through the initiative of Kalabash Ghana Foundation, a local non-governmental organisation, based in Bolgatanga.
In an interview, the Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Mr. Justin Adonadaga, disclosed that between 2008 and 2012, the NGO has drilled eighteen boreholes in eighteen communities, while ten others also benefited from mechanised water systems.
Giving the breakdown, the CEO said 19 communities in the Kassena-Nankana East Municipality benefited from the water project; two in the Talensi District, five in Kassena-Nankana West, and one in the Bolgatanga Municipality.
According to him, similar projects would soon be commissioned at Nogsenia, St. Johns Integrated Special School, Doba, Nayagnia Karania, Nayagnia Badania, Janania, and Kandiga
Afumtoa. These were done in partnership with the Kassena Nankana East Municipal Assembly between February and April this year.
