Indian Partner/TOBINCO Produce And Distribute Quality Medicines
We refer to the story published in the October 1, 2013 issue of your newspaper, and written by one Stephen Odoi Larbi on the recent Food and Drugs Authority pronouncements about the operations of our company. We write to protest the publication of inaccurate and misleading statements about our operations in your newspaper.
Over the past thirteen years of our operations in the pharmaceutical industry, we have exhibited integrity in our work and have complied with all regulatory requirements. We can say without doubt that the company has always imported quality pharmaceutical products to impact the health and wellbeing of society positively.
What has led to the recent state of affairs, with regards to registration of products with the Food and Drugs Authority, has nothing to do with the integrity of the products. A penalty imposed by the Authority, in connection with the registration issues, has been duly paid, and further discussions are ongoing to clear our good name.
We completely reject the wrong perceptions being created by your paper about our partner and our company. The insinuations regarding our meeting with the BNI are also totally unwarranted, and unjustifiably seek to tarnish the reputation of our officials.
We request that henceforth, you desist from making false allegations with regard to our company and our products. We expect you to publish our response to your publication, and give it the same prominence you gave to your publication to correct the inaccurate and misleading impression that your story in your publication created.
We assure the public that we will continue to maintain the quality and integrity of our products, as we continue to work with the Food and Drugs Authority to resolve the issues and clear our good name.
Mr. BERNARD BOATENG, HEAD, TECHNICAL AND REGULATORY AFFAIRS, TOBINCO INDUSTRIES
