According to him, the National Security should mount surveillance on the borders of Ghana in order to avert any possible invasion from the Islamic extremist group, Boko Haram.

“As a country, this is the time for the National Security to make sure that they deploy informants on the borders,” he said.

Speaking on U TV’s Adekye Nsroma Morning Show, Kofi Adams expressed concern about the upsurge of threats by the Islamic sect, stressing that their activities are despicable and thus the country should be wary of their activities.

He also called on the African Union and ECOWAS to establish a joint African Force which will counter the savagery of Boko Haram. He was of the view that the presence of a highly-equipped and trained African Command will help fortify the African continent against any act of terrorism.

Reports on Wednesday indicated that Boko Haram rebels had killed about 300 people in the town of Gamboru Ngala, Chibok. It is the same area where more than 200 girls and women were abducted from a school last month.

Further addressing the issue of the abduction of over 200 girls by Boko Haram, Kofi Adams chided the leader of the group for claiming to have abducted the children to punish Nigeria because the Nigerian State has infused western culture with their culture.

“Meanwhile you’re fighting western education. If you’re fighting against western education that western education is bad, why are you speaking Western language?…Why are you communicating in western language?” Kofi Adams questioned.

He also welcomed the intervention of the international community to salvage the situation but however warned them not to take advantage of the Nigerian government.
