Organized Labour is poised to embark on its intended one-day nationwide demonstration Thursday, despite indications there are limited police personnel to provide safety.

Members would be protesting, what they describe as the economic hardships and high cost of living in the country. Organised labour hinted of the strike last week.

Industrial and Commercial Union’s General Secretary, Solomon Kotei told Joy News they were unperturbed about the security shortfall.

He announced that the Obra Spot at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra would be the assembling point for the frustrated workers, by 6:30 a.m.

He continued the demonstrators would match through the streets of Accra to the Ministry of Employment where their petition would be presented to the sector minister.

He added that, emergency service providers would be at strategic points to offer services to the general public.

Deputy Minister of the Interior, James Agalga assured the public that government was on top of the security arrangements for tomorrow’s showdown even though the available personnel do not meet the minimum United Nations requirement.
