‘I think I’m done with secular music’ – Bamboo

Kenyan rapper, Simon Kimani aka Bamboo has announced his decision to quit secular music.
He tweeted on Sunday, September 22, 2013 ‘Think I’m done with secular music. On with the Lord’s purpose, done with the world circus. Who cares what they’ll say? You die alone anyway’.
The New York-based emcee first came to Nairobi at age 17 and produced his first album, ‘Nairoberry’ with his group K-South in 2001. He formed the record label ‘Project 254’ in Nairobi with Kenyan emcees Waindi and Attitude.
Bamboo’s style of rap is a combination of American and Kenyan content which is delivered in a markedly American accent and flow.
