Hearts of Oak to hire an expatriate coach – Harry Zakkour
Former Hearts of Oak Management Committee Chairman Harry Zakkour claims the club’s Board Chairman Togbe Afede XVI will replace Mohammed Polo with an expatriate trainer at the end of the season.
Hearts’ season have been bedevilled with inconsistent results with fans pointing accusing fingers at club legend Mohammed Polo who is leading the technical team.
While accusation have also headed to the leadership for the untimely sacking of David Duncan at the start of the season.
“I have heard Togbe is planning to bring a white coach at the end of the season,” former management committee chairman Zakkour told Accra-based Asempa FM.
The former African champions are under-performing in the Ghanaian Premier League with head coach Mohammed Polo failing to convince the club’s leadership of his ability to steer the 20-time Ghanaian title winners.
Danish trainer Tommy Moller Nelsen was rumoured to have reached a two-year agreement to take charge of the club at the end of the season but the dismissal of Managing Director Neil Armstrong could see the proposed move fail to materialise.
