Barimah Atuahene has beaten incumbent Alhaji Akanhi to the chairmanship of Accra Hearts of Oak’s National Chapter’s Committee (NCC), the official supporters wing of the club.
Atuahene, who was interestingly the last to join the race, emerged victorious with 146 votes, beating Akanbi’s 104 and contender Mohammed Alhassan’s 122.
The elections, which saw delegates elect their new leaders across many positions, was held at the YWCA Hall in the Accra suburb of Adabraka.
Speaking after his victory, Atuahene urged Hearts fans to unite through the turbulent times that has seen administrative and technical instability rock the club over the last few months.
Atuahene served almost twelve years as a Regional Chapters Committee chairman prior to the elections, and will now join the Hearts of Oak board as the supporters’ representative.
The popular Maxwell Asabere, an ally of Atuahene, unfortunately lost out on the second vice chairmanship position to Vicentia Doku, one of two women who won positions on the day.
Below are the full results of the elections.
