Fresh fighting has broken out at Yinyamba in Gushegu in the Northern region.

Several people have been reported injured during what a police officer described as ‘free for all fight’ between two Kokomba farming communities, Yiyamba and Bariba over a parcel of land.

Dozens of homes have also been set on fire in the renewed clash.

Gushegu government hospital administrator, Emmanuel Donkoh confirmed to Joy News a while ago that two people are being treated after sustaining gun shot wounds.

“For now they are two. One is in the OPD the other is in the theatre,” he stated.

Residents in nearby communities say they could hear gunshots and thick smoke billow from a distance.

A sub-chief in a nearby town, Naa David Wunzoya said the conflict began around 4:00 am.

“They have started burning Yiyamba,” he said.
He said standing from a distance on top of a hill he could see houses going up in smoke. According to him, residents of the two communities have been arguing over a piece of land.
