GRIDCo holds safety week
Speaking to journalists after the walk, the Operation and Safety Supervisor at the Tamale Area Office, Mr David Dadson, said the nature of work of the company made it to prioritise safety in all its operations.
He said through the safety awareness measures put in place by the company, accident figures of the company had been reduced to the barest minimum.
He said GRIDCo used to record about five accident cases a year but that had been reduced.
Mr Dadson said the company decided to prioritise the safety measures in view of the effect a single accident case could have on the individual, his/her family and the company.
The Operation and Safety Engineer, Wofa Kojo Kwarteng, said there would be outreach programmes to educate the general public about safety during the celebrations.
He said the public would also be sensitised to the operations of GRIDCo and how to use energy efficiently.
