An earlier communication by the Public Affairs Directorate of Parliament said Parliament, which rose on March 28, 2014, was expected to reconvene on Tuesday, 3rd June, 2014.

A new communique however shows Members of parliament are expected to reconvene on Tuesday, 10th June 2014 for the second sectional meeting.

This new directive has begun causing some confusion as Members of the house are yet to be informed of the development.
MP for Kwesimintsim and Ranking Member of Government Assurances Committee (GAC) of Parliament, Joe Baidoo Ansah told ultimate radio no specific reasons have been assigned for the latest postponement.

“We were told that the resumption will be on the third and now we know it is going to be on the tenth which is even more serious and we don’t even know the reason. There has only been speculations with no reason assigned to it,” he decried.
Hon Joe Baidoo Ansah also pointed out that that several bills including international financial transactions of government was bound to suffer set backs due to the delays.

He was also worried the postponement would also mean that the hands of the executive would remain tied during the period as several of their decisions would have to be sanctioned by parliament.
