Medeama recorded their first win of the season with a hard-fought 2-1 win at Liberty Professionals in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday with in-form striker Godbless Asamoah on target again.
Captain Godfred Rockson opened the scoring for the visitors in the 29th minute with a fine header.
The impressive centre-back soared above the defenders of Liberty to slop home the opener, beating goalkeeper Stephen Odai.
The scientific soccer lads responded positively with some great inter-positional passes from midfield which got them many admirers at the Accra sports stadium.
Midfielder Michael Appiah drove home a 25-yard stunner to pull level in the 36th minute.
The youngster drilled past the Medeama defenders and delivered a thunderbolt which goalkeeper Muntar Tagoe had no answer to to end the first half.
The Mauves and Yellows came into the second half with some zeal and tenacity and totally dominated play with striker Hans Kwoffie outclassing the defenders of Liberty with his pace and daft touches.
Kwoffie virtually tore the defenders of the Dansoman-based side with a solo effort and set-up in-form Godbless Asamoah who connected from close range to put the visitors infront.
Medeama kept their compsure and dictated the pace with holding midfielder Victor Ayirey the chief architect in a game which could have ended in a cricket scoreline for the Tarkwa-based side.
The Ghana FA Cup holders next travel to Obuasi to face Ashantigold while Liberty take on Dwarfs in Cape Coast.
