The Ghana National Flag was designed by Mrs. T. S Okoh, a Ghanaian, to replace the flag of the United Kingdom of Britain and Ireland upon the attainment of independence.
The flag was officially hoisted on March 6th 1957, replaced shortly with version with white middle stripe 1964.01.01 to 1966.02.28, when this flag was reintroduced.
The flag is national flag on land and state ensign.
