Ghana Fa Insist Kevin Boateng Not Ruled Out Of World Cup Playoffs Against Egypt

The Ghana FA insist Kevin-Prince Boateng has not been ruled out of next week’s World Cup qualifier against Egypt just yet.
Media reports has gone viral that the Schalke midfielder has been ruled out of the game after picking an injury during their 4-1 win over Augsburg in the German Bundesliga last Saturday.
The 26-year-old underwent a scan on Sunday and Monday but officials of the German outfit are yet to make the result public, prompting speculations in the media that he won’t be available for the crunch tie at the Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi.
But the Ghanaian authorities have denied the reports and insist they are awaiting the medical response from his club to ascertain the veracity of the claims in the media.
“Kevin has not been ruled out as we speak. As far as the FA is concerned he is still very much part of coach Appiah’s plans for the game against Egypt,” FA spokesman Ibrahim Sannie-Daara told Asempa FM
“We are yet to be furnished with the result of the scan and so we can’t say he has been ruled out.
“Until we get an official notification from Schalke, we expect him to be part of the team to face Egypt.”
