Fred Oware ordained as next National Chairman – NPP Group
A group within the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) says the party’s first vice chairman, Fred Oware is the ordained National Chairman to lead the NPP to victory in 2016.
According to the group calling itself Friends of Fred Oware, NPP can only come to power with Mr. Oware as Chairman.
Spokesperson for the group, Charles Searyoh said after intense fasting and prayers, God revealed to them that with Fred Oware as Chairman, NPP will win power.
“Just after the Supreme Court ruling, we went on retreat to seek the face of God and to pray for the future of the party. There, God revealed to us that Fred Oware shall be chosen as National Chairman under whose leadership the NPP will win elections’.
He added that the first national vice chairman is “tried, tested, affable, hardworking, transparent and has a listening ear”.
Charles Searyoh noted that despite the exceptional performance of the current chairman, Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey, it is only Mr. Oware who can chair the party to victory in 2016.
Even though the current chairman will be seeking to retain his position, some leading members have expressed interest in contesting the chairmanship position.
Notable amongst them are twice defeated contender, Stephen Ntim and Paul Afoko.
But Mr. Fred Oware is yet to express interest in the position.
