First African Skin Care Product Unveiled

L’Oreal, the world’s leading beauty company and producers of Dark and Lovely range of beauty products, has launched the first multi-active body lotion specifically made for the African skin.

The new Dark and Lovely Crème 6 oil body lotion combines sweet almond, avocado, shea butter, apricot, jojoba and coconut oil to help combat the most common imperfections affecting the African skin.

Based on 10 years of research, the new skin care product has been created to make it easy to address dullness, dryness, roughness, unevenness, tightness and ashy looking skin.

‘Dark and Lovely identified six natural oil that treat these six issues and combines them into the winning formula of Crème 6 oils, which allows users to get back the skin they were born with,’ said Executive General Manager of L’Oreal West Africa, Jean Dominique De Ravigan.

He said the product, which is made for both male and female African skin, has essential elements that do not only protect the skin from sun damage but also contain properties that have the ability to rejuvenate and soften the skin while improving its completion.

Brands Manager of L’Oreal West Africa, Richard Kumassah, said the African skin has often not been taken care of in the way it should, hence Dark and Lovely researched and found the latest solution for the African skin.

‘We at Dark and Lovely believe that every African deserves a beautiful skin and that is what Crème 6 oils body lotion will do for the African skin,’ he said.

Dark and Lovely Ambassador, Ama K. Abebrese said, ‘Black skin is extremely beautiful but the smallest imperfection can compromise our skin’s original beauty. Fortunately, this is now a thing of the past as I’m looking forward to trying Crème 6 oils and seeing the results on my skin.’

Recent survey conducted by Premier Brands Ghana and Centre for Brand Analysis in 2013 revealed that more than half of Ghanaians prefer Dark and Lovely beauty products compared to other brands indicates.

The survey revealed that 55 percent of Ghanaian women chose Dark and Lovely as their number one beauty brand.

Eric Affaidu, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Premier Brands Ghana commented, ‘The survey sought to establish and identify a brand that is at the heart of consumers, a brand that is relevant to them and the community at large and most importantly one that they can trust.’
