Fire Razes Portion Of Dansoman Market
Fire has razed down portions of the Dansoman market yesterday, to the agony and surprise of traders and nearby residents.
The fire, which destroyed thousands of cedis in cash and properties, according the security personnel, started around 2:00 a.m., when activities in the market had been over.
As part of the security routine of daily patrolling the market at dawn, the security personnel on duty detected the fire and the called the Ghana National Fire Service to control and prevent it from spreading to other parts of the market.
ADO Faustian Amofa, a Fire Officer, told The Accra File that even though investigations were yet to be conducted to ascertain the cause, she discounted it being attributed to an electrical fault.

It is the negligence of the traders.’
She urged the general public, especially traders, to quench all fires, switch off all electrical gargets and other possible fire generating equipment, before closing the shops and stalls for the day.
