FGJ Commends The TUC For Suspending Plans To Strike
The Forum for Governance and Justice (FGJ) has commended the Trade Union Congress (TUC) over their decision to suspend their plans to embark on strike over the recent tariff adjustments.
‘We express our appreciation to organized labour for heeding to the several and numerous calls by the President of the Republic and various civil society groups including the Forum for Governance and Justice’ convenor Mr. Samuel Nkumbaan stated.
According to them, ‘it is in such trying times that our patriotism and selfless attitudes are most needed as our national pledge and anthem entreats to selflessly devote our hearts and minds to the good course of Ghana.’
They added that ‘while urging TUC to continue negotiations with government and other relevant bodies for an amicably solution, the Forum is also calling on government and its functionaries to take the necessary steps to positively engage the Trade Union Congress to find a lasting solution to the current challenges that the nation is facing.’
The FGJ also called on Ghanaians to rally round the flag of Ghana, and rededicate ourselves once more to the national course.
