Gomoa Fetteh Feyenoord technical director Sam Arday has revealed that he had to think deep to ensure they qualified to the Ghana Premier League.

The 1995 FIFA U17 World Cup winner claims he feels physically and mentally drained after what he describes as a rigorous play-off campaign.

The academy side capped their season with a 2-1 win over Dunkwa United on Saturday in Accra to top zone III.

Before that, they had between Eleven Wise 1-0 and needed an injury-time winner to dispatch Gold Stars 2-1 in Tema.

Arday says he needed to punch above his weight to hatch the master plan for their qualification.

“I must confess. Since I started my coaching career, I have never exhausted my brain like in this division one league before,” the former Hearts and Kotoko coach told Joy FM.

“Let me confess, I think since I started coaching, I have never used my brains like in this particular middle league and I’m seriously tired and I need rest; may be one week before I can think of football again.

“Stress here and there when people tell you they are not working under pressure is either a defeatist attitude or they are not telling the truth.

“I really had to put a lot more hard work in our qualification, but I think it was a collective effort, everybody played a role.”
