Fatau Dauda Hits Back At Pessimistic Fans: I Will Quit Football If I Become Nervous In Post

Ghana goalkeeper Fatau Dauda says he will quit football once his nerves get the better in response to claims he was all over the place on his full competitive debut for Orlando Pirates.

The 28-year-old started his first competitive game for the Bucs in their 1-0 defeat at Polokwane City on Saturday.

Dauda after a shaky start – during which period he conceded what eventually proved to be the winner – was very composed in post.

The first choice Black Stars goalkeeper even went on to pull off two spectacular saves to keep his side in the game.

But some pessimistic fans are adamant Dauda was not his assured self on his debut but the ex AshGold shot-stopper disagrees.

“That is how some people saw it and I respect that but I have to quit soccer if I am nervous to keep,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“The lion heart is still in me. I train, learn and listen to instructions from my coaches and then go to work.”

Dauda could be making his second start for Orlando Pirates on Tuesday when they travel to face Ajax Cape Town in the South African top flight.
