As part of its contribution to the delvelopment of the entertainment industry in Ghana, Whisppa LLC has announced the launch of a new awards scheme dubbed ‘Fan Choice Awards’.

The scheme, according to the management of Whisppa LLC, would seek to award personalities and individuals across the various sectors of the creative arts industry and also give an opportunity to the general public to vote for their favourite nominees.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company, Eugene Ossei, said the new awards scheme is aimed at bringing celebrities and their fans together for the purpose of socialisation.

He stressed that his outfit’s agenda is to promote arts and entertainment in Ghana and also serve as the main digital distributer of music in the country.

According to him, ‘Fan Choice Awards’ would depend 100 percent on public vote and the event is slated to take place in October this year at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).

He added that the ‘Fan Choice Awards’ would have fans decide on who wins in every single category, as this is aimed at bringing some transparency in the voting process.

Some of the categories for the awards include; favourite daytime TV show, favourite young artiste, favourite radio show host, favourite entertainment TV show host, favourite movie, favourite telenovela, among others.

A brand new Hyundai i30 is up for grabs by the most interactive fan on social media platforms, Facebook and Twitter. Some fans would also be rewarded with handsets, among many other packages.

According to Eugene Ossei, ‘The event is like no other one in this country and we the organisers promise to cause a drastic change in the way events are being organised in the country.’

Organisers of the event are gearing up for a grand launch of the event in the coming weeks with the full list of categories and the launch of the official website. From all indications, ‘Fan Choice Awards’ is certainly the awards to watch out for this year.
