False number 9? Low names one striker in Germany’s final 23-man squad
Black Stars’ World Cup group opponents Germany will probably have the false number nine tactics in mind after manager Joachim Low named just one out-and-out striker in his final 23-man squad.
Miroslav Klose in the only striker named in the Germany squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup tournament in Brazil after Hoffenheim forward Volland was ignored.
Low said of his cut players:
‘Obviously Shkodran, Marcel and Kevin are very disappointed and I understand that because they had every right to hope they would be in Brazil.
‘All three are players who still have the chance to take part in several big tournaments in their careers.’
