Extreme Sailor Expect Approximately 4500 Lonesome Nautical Miles

Single-handed – nonstop – without any external assistance. The extreme sailor Harald Sedlacek has sailed on his only 4.9 meter short volcanic prototype FIPOFIX already successfully in 87 days from Gijón (SP) to Palm Beach (USA), now the ultimate northern route is waiting for him. Permanent weather caprioles, low water temperature and strong currents, heavy sea and the danger of drifting ice will push skipper Sedlacek and his FIPOFIX to the limit.

FIPOFIX’s departure from Palm Beach is planned for 15th respectively 16th May 2014. If Sedlacek succeeds also the 2nd transatlantic-crossing he has not just made sailing history, but also a new material technology and a new material “Made in Austria” will have been confirmed.
