Ex Ghana coach Ratomir Dujkovic has been shortlisted for the national team job of Rwanda.

The 68-year-old is in the run in to return to his former job after leading the Wasps to the 2004 Africa Cup of Nations in Tunisia.

The Serbian trainer is amongst an eight-man shortlist to succeed Eric Nshimiyimana whose contract ends at the end of July.

The Rwanda FA is rumoured to be looking to end Nshimiyimana reign way ahead of time – prompting their search in the process.

Nshimiyimana, a former Rwanda skipper has failed to impress since taking over from Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic in March last year.

He was unable to guide the team to the later stages of the Africa Cup of Nations, CHAN qualifiers and also the regional Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup in Kenya.

Rwanda FA President Vincent Degaule Nzamwita says a committee will be set up to work closely with the Ministry of Sports and Culture to assess the eight coaches on the shortlist.

Dujkovic is famous for guiding Ghana to their maiden qualification to the World Cup in 2006 in Germany.

He is believed to be the favourite in the contests.

Dujkovic becomes the latest former Black Stars coach to be linked with a top job in Africa.

This follows the appointment of ex Ghana coach Mariano Baretto to take over Ethiopia after winning a two-horse race against another ex Black Stars coach Goran Stevanovic.

Dujkovic is contesting Luc Eymael, Didier Gomes da Rosa and  Branko Tucak for the Rwanda job.

The others include; Rene Feller, Hans Michael Weiss and former Malawi, Ethiopia and Namibia coach Tom Saintfiet.
